Question:
I was seeing this girl and everything seemed to be going great. After about three weeks, she just stopped texting me, stopped taking my calls—pretty much dropped off the face of the earth. What should I do if I see her again?
Answer:
First I am sorry. This must feel awful on some level, feeling rejected or abandoned… feeling angry and used? Be sure to take a moment to be kind to yourself.
In a really uncomfortable way, this was a lesson to remind you that true safety and approval comes from inside, which allows us to move from needy, grasping or seeking love to having it for ourselves on the inside and then choosing to share and receive that love with a healthy partner.
As for what to do when you see her again, our goal here is not to be triggered, and instead be present, authentic and keep your heart open wide living fully.
With compassion, recognize that she must be scared, spinning in her head and not present enough to communicate on her end what’s going on. That doesn’t condone her behavior, yet let’s you know it’s her stuff. I don’t think you need to scold her or make a point of telling her how you feel… as she probably couldn’t hear it anyway, so it’s a waste of your time.
Just bless her, release her, ask the Universe what would it take to attract a woman who consistently gets more intimate, connected, authentic and honest with me as our relationship progresses… and allow yourself to learn whatever lesson this is providing you and keep going.
