Get a Healthy Home Flow with 4 Feng Shui Fixes

We could all afford to be more in tune with our living spaces, especially with the changing season. Check out these feng shui fixes for a healthy home flow.

It’s that time of year when we find ourselves de-cluttering and re-arranging items in our homes. As the old adage goes, it’s out with the old and in with the new as soon as Spring comes around.

You can do a little extra sprucing to your home this spring by integrating some quick and easy Feng Shui principles into your living space.

Feng Shui is defined as a system of laws considered to govern spacial orientation in relation to the flow of energy. For instance, if you want more love in your life, you would use Feng Shui in the home to ensure that love energy isn’t stagnant and can move through easily.

Overall, Feng Shui is meant to help people become more in tune with their living spaces so they can reap the benefits of positive energy. While it can get as complicated as ensuring that an entire structure is built properly, there are actually some simple Feng Shui techniques you can use to improve your living space this spring.

Clear your space.

The act of energetically clearing space has been practiced for thousands of years by various cultures throughout the world. It’s the practice of removing negative energy from an area and it can be done in many ways.

For instance, you’ve probably heard of people using sage smudging sticks to clear a space. They light sage and let the smudge clear the energy of the home. Other methods include using sound, spraying essential oils, or just pure intention.

The key is to do this periodically, especially during big cleanings (like spring) or after some negative events have occurred in the home (like a big fight with your spouse).

Decorate with crystals.

Crystals have been used throughout humanity to bring forth healing and positive energy. It’s no surprise that you can also find them used in Feng Shui practices.

Choose crystals based on the energy you want to receive. For instance, rose quartz is known to promote love whereas citrine is said to bring abundance. Another popular stone is smokey quartz for it’s ability to remove negative energy from a space. And perhaps the most popular stone is clear quartz for its beauty and many functions.

Organize your entry way.

According to Feng Shui, if you walk into a messy entryway, it promotes stress and brings bad energy into the house every time you open the door. Therefore, if there’s only one place you can Feng Shui make sure to clean out your home’s entrance.

Fix your lighting.

Lighting is very important in a home regardless of whether or not you follow Feng Shui. Seeing as how Feng Shui is all about energy, and light is the highest manifestation of energy, proper lighting is top priority in this ancient science.

One thing you can do is replace your fluorescent light bulbs with softer ones. You can also focus on bringing more colors into your home. After all, color is light. Lastly, you can add more natural lighting to the home.

Aside from creating a positive flow of energy, proper lighting and colors also help us lift our moods. These two additions to a room are good for our health, making it a win win situation.
