Welcome to the final month of 2018! You’ve made it and for many of us that is saying a lot since the energy of 2018 was all about creating heat and friction needed to catalyze change. 2019 promises to be a major year where there is rich opportunity available for us to step into the person we are meant to be—but only if we’ve completed the work of the previous 12 months. For those who have tried to cut corners or who’ve ignored the work entirely, there is still some friction to endure.

The magic, however, resides in the power that exists for us to choose differently. It doesn’t matter what you did yesterday. It doesn’t matter what mistakes you made or perceptions you had. All that matters is how you wish to be in this moment. How you choose to be, right here and right now.

That is power.

The awareness that even as we work to take ourselves in fully, warts and all, we are not the same person today as we were yesterday—nor will we be the same tomorrow. We are in a constant state of evolution and invention, and this mutability is never more evident than it is this December.

There is a charge to the air—an awareness that not only are we closing the books on another year of our life, but there is a shift taking place. We’re tapping into an awareness of the world around us, our part in it, and the role we want to play in its continued evolution. We see this on a grand level as we look to our roles in our community as well as on a micro level where we dig in deep to the question of “who am I?” It’s that deep energy—energy that has the power to shift consciousness collectively and personally.

Let’s explore the energy of the month, sign by sign.

This month you are all about those relationship patterns. The more you understand these factors, the more you can adjust accordingly and see your relationships shine because of it.

The Page of Wands really compliments the energy of the month. This is an invitation to explore the youthful, curious, and spunky energy within. You are all about discovery this month and because this energy has yet to be fettered by the stresses and responsibilities of life, you feel more capable of being present and taking in as much of the deliciousness available to us all in each moment.

Taurus

The beginning of December can feel a little bit like an emotional tsunami creating a whole lot of passion, but not necessarily the type that you would typically welcome. This is passion that can create massive discord if you are not careful. You are forward-thinking this month, dreaming about your future, but you are also playing a dangerous game with Neptune who is creating some disillusionment and muddled thinking. What you perceive may not be reality, so be mindful before you catch yourself in a moment to reactiveness that can create more drama than is called for.

The Six of Wands is a beautiful energy that tells me if you direct this passion towards creating stability, balance, and health in your life, you will find massive success. See, this is the kicker with energy, we either work with it or get worked by it. In this case, you can either can get taken under by a strong emotional tide or you can hop upon your board and ride that wave like the badass you are. The choice is yours. But if you direct this energy with consciousness, you will find success and a feeling of accomplishment as you toast to 2019.

Gemini

Mercury, your sign’s ruler, is retrograde and in a shadow period for pretty much all of December, which means your typical ability to communicate with unbelievable flare and gusto is going to be put to the test. Not that I see this as a slowing down of your innate talents for communication, rather this feels to me like you are doing a great deal of talking with those around you but there is not much understanding. It’s a bit like talking at one another rather than to and with one another. Make sure you allow your heart to be the launching pad for communication this month, Gemini. Your ability to cut right to the chase and top it all off with some witty comments could come across on the side of scathing.

The Seven of Swords is amplifying this energy, telling me that if you are not careful your ego could be the one directing the words that you choose to speak. This is an energy that has an “at all costs” tonality to it and, sometimes, we need that energy—but sometimes this energy can have us tasting the sweetness of our fruit, but at high personal cost. Whatever you choose to pursue this month, whatever you aim to accomplish, make sure the effort put forth remains above board.

Cancer

This month begins what will amount to several months of inward exploration and deep self inquiry. You are cleaning house and making sure the beliefs, behaviors, and truths you hold are in alignment with who you are today. This means getting rid of any outdated beliefs around self-worth and dropping any story that you accepted as truth because it was modeled by your parents or caretakers. This is a month for getting crystal clear on who YOU are and what YOU believe. This is a perfect launching pad for 2019—what better way to start the year than by getting rid of anything that no longer serves and defining for yourself the beliefs that will create the life you live.

The Knight of Swords is a perfect compliment to this energy because it’s encouraging this sense of mission. You are entirely at the helm, Cancer. 2019 can be a repeat of the same patterns and loops of behavior or you can totally radicalize the landscape. It’s up to you, but it requires a dedication and attention to detail. You have to get up and get moving and, even though a lot of it is based on that deep internal work, that doesn’t mean effort is not required. The Knight of Swords is here to offer you a solid by inspiring you into action and helping you to clear out what no longer serves so you create a life that resonates.

Leo

Your health is going to be front and center this month as you start paying attention to the signs your body is telling you. Now is the time for scheduling those doctor appointments and making sure you have the right team behind you while you assess your health goals. This doesn’t have to mean a health issue will prompt all of this, though if you have been dealing with any, this is the month you’ll find things coming together for taking care of what is needed. What this energy is about, however, is being proactive regardless of whether you are just doing some maintenance with regards to your health or are taking care of a preexisting condition. Now is the time to honor your temple. This body sees you through a lot and it’s time to start taking care of it.

The Four of Pentacles is really driving this home even further with a need to call back your energy. Our relationships, our jobs, our children, animals, passions, all of these things call upon and demand our energy. There are some things, however, that are not worthy of our energy—or, at the very least, do not need it presently. Call back your resources, put the focus on the Self, and watch as your vibrancy, your vitality, skyrocket because of it.

Virgo

This month you are getting some serious money mojo thanks to Jupiter who is expanding in your 2nd house of money. This gives you a chance to clean house and really assess where your resources are going and what investments are not working for you. Get clear on what you need to do in order to increase your bottom line. Let’s make sure you are not entering 2019 with the same money wounds as you did in 2018.

Helping this energy along is the Six of Swords. This is an energy of transition, telling me you are moving on from one thing and entering a new phase in your life. If you used to spend with reckless abandon, this may be a turning point where you start to beef up that savings account. If you have been stuck in a lifeless job or one that hardly pays you what you are worth, you may decide now is the time to make a change. Regardless of where the transition occurs, the tendency is for there to be some resistance as we close the book on one phase and enter another. Whether we sought this transition or not, it’s time to accept that we’ve learned all we could from where we were and now it’s time for the next steps and the next lessons in our evolution.

Libra

What is your message? What do you wish to impart to the world? What do you want to create and how can you take the ideas within and make them a reality? This is the energy December holds for you. A time for getting clear on what you’ve got to share and putting together a plan to get it out there. This is a great month for expanding your life in some way, but you have to have the clarity of where you are going to map out a route to get there.

This can be made more complicated with the sometimes-woeful energy of the Four of Cups. This is an energy of “minding the gap”—where we are more focused on and thus feeding the space between where we are and where we wish to be. It’s the rumination on what we feel we lack without taking a step back to see the bigger picture and all that we already have available to us. Do not feed that which you don’t want by putting all your attention there. Take a look around you, Libra. There are goodies to grab if you have the presence of mind to do so.

Scorpio

You are filled with a deep stirring of energy. Your passion is fully engaged and you are ready to celebrate the merriment of the holidays. Before you go off hopping from party to party, know that there is a charge to this energy that can draw or drive things into/from your life. While on one hand, your intensity and charisma is at an all-time high, so too is your tendency for reactiveness and spouting off at the mouth. Make sure you speak from a place of love and tolerance while also letting the glimmer in your eye catch the attention of someone you are interested in. You can have your cake and eat it too—just make sure that all things come from the heart.

Aiding this energy is the King of Cups. You will intuitively know what it is that others around you need and lead from a place of this inner knowing. Sagittarius

The sun is shining down upon you, dearest Sag—or, more specifically, Jupiter. He is expanding your gusto for merriment and fun as you make your rounds this holiday season. Your friends and close ones will play a prominent role for you in the first few weeks of December while the middle finds you incredibly aware of the limitlessness of this experience. What do you want to do? Where do you want to go? What do you want your life to look like? You are ready for changing and have a “lets do it” mentality. Just remember that Saturn is touring your 8th house of Changing, which is going to make you aware of the process. This is not going to be a moment of flash in the pan, overnight change, rather the carefully curated change that you put together over time.

The good news is that the Three of Pentacles is the perfect energy to ensure you are putting together a plan that will help you slowly make this change happen. Change is difficult and, yes, there is always a level of risk when we step out on that ledge. But the time is really nigh for you to make this life what you want it to be. If nothing changes, nothing changes—and we humans are not meant to stay stagnant. Rather than becoming locked by indecision, this may be a great month to work with someone who can help you tap into your inner-knowing and with what your heart is telling you to do. The answer is there. In fact, you already know it. But you have to heed the call, dear one.

Pisces

This month is all about freedom and independence for you. You are ready for change. You are ready for the limelight. You are ready for things to happen and in a real big way. But in that same breath, Saturn is rubbing up against your craving for expansion by teaching you how to bring some structure to what you are building. For us Pisces, structure is a very dirty word. We tend to enjoy swimming in the flow more than following some sense of order, but order is very much on the menu—the only thing on the menu for December—and as much as it may not be our natural strength, order is a keen thing to have when we are trying to create something big for ourselves. It gives us the foundation we need to not just get a taste of success, but to truly build a foundation that is imbued with it and fills our life each and every day.

The Five of Wands is encouraging that independent streak, Pisces. This is not an energy of team work, this is an energy of standing up for and advocating for your own goals, aspirations, and needs. You may receive some friction from those around you as you assert yourself more, but this is to be expected. Everyone wants a piece of the pie. In this case, however, it’s imperative that you hold your ground. Say your truth, advocate for your dreams.
