Russell Simmons on Navigating Life: Smile & Breathe

Russell Simmons changed his life and it started with a desire to meet “chicks.” Entering a yoga studio to meet ladies, class became a life-altering gift.


Over 25 years ago, hip-hop mogul and entrepreneur Russell Simmons found sobriety. A few years later, he walked into his first yoga class. Upon leaving, he felt at ease, like he didn’t need anything.

Now a daily practitioner of yoga and meditation, Simmons attributes much of his success to what he calls “operating from a quiet space.” He believes that every person seeks a stillness of mind and meditation delivers that stillness with clarity.

Currently, Simmons is touring to promote his new book, Success Through Stillness: Meditation Made Simple, while spreading awareness that meditation benefits the body, mind and spirit.
